(BE)LOVE(D)

Love is complicated. Or it at least seems that way. But yet love is a necessity for all of us! To really know love and to know the Love that God the Father says he has for us, we look to Jesus. Jesus who takes broken people and through a cross makes them beautiful because of his love. You are a beloved child of God!

See what kind of love The Father has given to us That we should be called children of God And so we are.  1 John 3:1

This week wake up every morning look in the mirror and look to someone else and say:

I am beloved not because of anything I have done.

I am beloved in spite of everything I have done.

I am a beloved child of God!

Week 2: Love and Forgiveness

1 John 3:16-17 New Living Translation

16We know what real love is because Jesus gave up his life for us. So we also ought to give up our lives for our brothers and sisters. 17If someone has enough money to live well and sees a brother or sister in need but shows no compassion—how can God’s love be in that person?

18Dear children, let’s not merely say that we love each other; let us show the truth by our actions.

Luke 7:36-50

Story Bible pg 339 Pew Bible 1099

Identity: Woman of the City, a Sinner

Action: Weeping, Hair used as towel, kissing and anointing Jesus feet.

Money & Math Illustration: Who will love him more? The one for whom he canceled the bigger debt.

The Point: Therefore, I tell you, her sins, which are many, are forgiven- for she loved much. But he who is forgiven little, loves little…Your faith has saved you; go in peace.

1 John 3:19 (NLT) Our actions will show that we belong to the truth, so we will be confident when we stand before God. 20 Even if we feel guilty, God is greater than our feelings, and he knows everything.

Psalm 19:12 How can I know all the sins lurking in my heart? Cleanse me from these hidden faults.

Take it Home and to the Heart

This week wake up every morning look in the mirror and look to someone else and say:

I am beloved not because of anything I have done.

I am beloved in spite of everything I have done.

I am a beloved child of God!
