Office Manager (Director of Communications) – Peggy Elder

Some of her many duties include publications, worship service design and slide production, schedule coordination, office management, and assisting Pastor Wendorf.




Vicar & Church Planter– Chad Bresson

Chad joined the St. Paul team in February of 2018. His main focus is spent on planting and launching a new church in the Los Fresnos community of the RioGrande Valley. Chad also assists Pastor Nathan with pastoral duties at St. Paul like


Accountant – Linda CordesCORDES, JIM; (Staff)87

Linda has been a member of St. Paul for a number of years and has served since 2008 years with responsibility of the Accounting at St. Paul. Her tasks include the payroll, managing cash flow, paying bills, and keeping the church financial records. She also works part time as a teacher at Great Beginnings.



Audio Visual – Mike ElderELDER, Mike & Peggy; Joni, Bryan

Mike Elder grew up is a son of St. Paul growing up as a member of the congregation and student at the school. Mike serves in the operations at almost every service in the sanctuary in the audio and visual area as well as making sure doors and the very important A/C is on a ready for worship!
Associate Pastor- Rev. Mauricio Franco
Pastor Mauricio and his wife Gladys joined the St. Paul team on July 1, 2018 upon his graduation from Concordia Seminary in St. Louis. The Franco’s are very excited to be a part of what Jesus is up to in Harlingen and the Rio Grande Valley!


    • Facility Management – Steve Potter

Steve is native of Michigan but has enjoyed calling the Valley his home.  Steve has had ties to St. Paul for many years; including an Uncle who has served on the Property Board in years past.  Steve is an avid walker, and enjoys walks through many different parks and areas around Harlingen.  Steve is a great asset to the staff here at St. Paul, and has a knack of being able to install, repair, and enhance a variety of things!


SCHWARTZ, Stephen & Carolyn

  • Music Director – Carolyn Schwartz

Carolyn grew up at St. Paul and for many years has served as the principal organist as well as the director of the choir and handbells. Carolyn also handles the planning and coordinating of the weekly 8am worship service as well as many special services through out the year.



Director of Christian Education/ Mission and Discipleship Facilitator for RioGrande Valley Mission Action Council (RioMAC)- Brenda Segovia

Brenda joined the St. Paul team in August of 2016 and is deployed to work with LCMS congregations across the RioGrande Valley as a Director of Christian working specificailly with youth and young adults.  She was raised in the Catholic Church, but was invited to youth group at a local Lutheran church during her freshman year of high school. It was that invitation that led Brenda to pursue a leadership role in her youth group, which then led to her desire to attend Concordia University and become a church worker. After graduating from Concordia University Irvine in 2015, Brenda began her DCE internship in Long Beach, CA. Brenda’s internship consisted of creating and planning youth group events, Bible studies, fundraisers, etc., which were primarily aimed toward middle through college-aged students. Above all, Brenda’s internship gave her the opportunity to be a sponge and absorb as much experience and wisdom as possible from those around her, all while keeping Christ at the center of everything she did. From the Bay Area to Irvine, and from Irvine to Long Beach, Brenda is ready for this new adventure with RioMAC and with all of you in the Rio Grande Valley!


Senior Pastor – Rev. Nathan Wendorf

Pastor Wendorf was installed as Pastor of St. Paul in Dec. 2010. He and his wife Kristine have a son Jonathan who was born in March 2009, a daughter, Tabitha born in April 2013 and son Caleb born Sept 2016. Before coming to St. Paul, he served for 5 1/2 years at Our Savior Lutheran Church in McKinney, TX. Pastor graduated with an M. Div.from Concordia Seminary in St. Louis in 2005 and is also a graduate from Concordia Chicago with a BA in Elementary Education and his Lutheran Teacher Diploma in 2001. He has completed advance training in Pastoral Leadership Institute and continues his professional development through Pastor360. In Harlingen he is involved with the Chamber of Commerce and the Leadership Harlingen Program serving as chair of the steering committee. Nathan also serves on the Board of Habitat for Humanity of the Rio Grande Valley. Nathan has a heart for the local church and connecting people with Jesus. He has served on mission and teaching teams in Mexico, India, and Mongolia. Nathan grew up almost his entire life in Northeast Ohio and is a very avid Cleveland Indians fan and The Ohio State Buckeyes! The Wendorf’s enjoy spending lots of time at the beach, the zoo, and playing outside year around in beautiful Harlingen! The Wendorf’s love living and serving along side with the people of St. Paul and look forward to see how God will continue work through them here!
